Title Robot design
Supervisor Dr. K. Khorasani
Description The project is to design a robot that follows a radio frequency beacon while helping carrying objects. The user has unidirectional radio signal, the beacon. The robot has a directional antenna which allows it to tell which direction the signal is coming from, and strength of the signal tells its distance. It also features obstacle avoidance. Processing the input information, the robot follows its user's signal. Moreover, it is capable of carrying heavy objects for the user with limited mobility. There is also an optional remote control which gives the user variety of functions to command the robot for special case. The robot also allows users to set commands directly on its body through a control system in case the remote set lost. In closing, the design of the robot could be broken down into modular parts easing the design and construction. These parts would be obstacle avoidance, beacon and receiver, motor control and chassis, and
algorithm design.
