Title Indoor Positioning System
Supervisor Dr. Abdelwahab Hamou-Lhadj
Description In North America people spend close to 90% of their time indoors, in malls and universities, just to cite a few. The project goal is to design an Indoor Positioning System for Concordia University campus. The system will track and find the position of a smart phone user inside a building using proximity and triangulation of the building's Wi-Fi networks. An appropriate map, accessed from the device memory, the phone not only shows your location on the map but allows you to 'browse' the building directory, find points of interest and even share your position with other people. System Features: -Path finding to a classroom/other user/points of interest -Dynamic navigation -Wi Fi - triangulation -Track of users' movements and provide a live update of their position -Use gyroscopes/accelerometer/compass for location approximation -Camera Marker Recognition (Augmented Reality) for classrooms information
