| Description |
Many are familiar with the red ‘Place de stationnement Réservée’ covers that are placed over some of the street parking meters across the city of Montreal. These covers are used when spots are reserved by the city due to construction or when those holding a special permit rent them for a certain period of time. The process of adding, removing and managing the covers is both very time-consuming and expensive: it requires a lot of employees to complete the task in a short span of time, reservations need to be managed manually and on top of the cost of employees, the inability to remove them expediently may cause a significant loss of revenue. The team’s objective, in collaborating with Stationnement de Montréal, is to automate this process by integrating an IoT device that will solve this challenge.
