Title Community Electric Car Charging
Supervisor Akshay Rathore
Description Our project’s goal is to make personal electric car chargers publicly available to meet the community’s growing demand for accessible charging stations. Our product packages a power measurement system that connects to a mobile/web application. This solution allows clients to charge their car at a fee at any participating user location. Our product aims to extend the electric car charging network beyond commercial and urban areas. Our prototype will be an add-on to electric car chargers and will accurately measure power delivered to the customers vehicle. The products most important feature will be to read power consumption accurately. More features will include having an LCD for user interface, connection to WIFI, and NFC tap and pay. The module will be compatible with Tesla chargers for the scope of this project. The electrical design is forwards compatible with car chargers that may be developed in the future. Users of this product will use the mobile application to find chargers near them, as well as reserve them ahead of time. Owners of the chargers can use the app to dictate when their devices are available or not. Customers will also have the ability to pay directly from their phone.
