Title Fluorescence Reader
Supervisor N. Kharma
Description The purpose of the project is to incrementally build, test, characterize and improve on an economical microcontroller controlled fluorescence reader, from initial designs provided by the supervisor. The project requires the construction of a digital electronics circuit (board then PCB), the programming of a microcontroller and the printing and assembly of physical plastic (and other) parts, as well as the integration (and integration testing) of all physical and software components. Any biological material (e.g., fluorescent proteins or light-up RNAs) will be provided by the supervisor, and their utilization will be carried out in his biosafety-certified wet lab (bench) in GE.
Requirement Basic Circuits, uC Programming, basic Optics.
Tools Basic electronics lab access.
Number of Students 5 or 6
Students K. Nie, H.Y. He, N. Moryoussef, Z. Ben Mami
