    Wood decay and associated moisture and grade problems are listed on over half of the inspection reports filed by the California structural pest industry. Yet few people are concerned about decay, because it does not crawl, or appreciate the absolute relationship between wood decay and water. Dry wood can not decay. Decay is controlled by removing the source of water. The Center is continuously involved in disseminating this message.
