Dr. Khashayar Teimoori holds a PhD degree in Mining and Materials Engineering from the Mining and Materials Engineering Department of McGill University. He also holds a Master’s degree and a PhD candidacy in Mechanical Engineering from the Grove School of Engineering of the City College of the City University of New York. Prior to joining the team, Dr. Teimoori was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alberta. He was a recipient of CUNY Graduate Center Fellowship award in 2014, McGill Engineering Doctoral Award (MEDA) in 2017, Gerald Hatch Graduate Fellowship in Engineering in 2017, Lorne Trottier Engineering Graduate Fellowship in 2018, McGill Doctoral Internship Award in 2020, and MITACS Accelerate Award in 2021. He has contributed to several scholarly publications, including technical reports, journal papers, and international conferences. He is an active member of the ARMA, ISRM, ASME, AMS, APS, and CIM societies and has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (Elsevier), Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering (Springer), Minerals (MDPI), and Energy Science and Technology (Wiley). His research expertise includes numerical modeling of microwaves, design and development of novel microwave-assisted heating and preconditioning systems, experimental data analysis, image processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning applications, and numerical simulation techniques using FEM, DEM, etc.
