waste valorization

The increasing need for energy on a global scale is driving research efforts to develop efficient and environmentally friendly conversion technologies using alternative feedstocks such as municipal solid wastes and used tires.

PROJECTS

Development and simulation of a novel microwave-assisted plastic pyrolysis process

Khashayar Teimouri worked on the development and CFD modelling of the GreeNovel invented microwave-assisted plastic conversion process. The 2D reactor model showed that a more efficient heating system is achievable compared to the conventional plastic pyrolysis processes.

Electrified waste tire conversion process

Kashish Shah is working on the simulation and comparative LCA of the electrified waste tire gasification and pyrolysis processes for methanol and pyrolysis oil production.

Incorporation of municipal solid wastes for the development of an efficient CO2 utilization polygeneration process

Golnoosh Maleki is working on the simulation and comparative LCA of the electrified waste tire gasification and pyrolysis processes for methanol and pyrolysis oil production.
