11th International Conference on Durability of Building Materials and Components (11 DBMC) 2008, at Istanbul "where a confluence of people with technological and scientific perspectives is envisaged to exchange ideas and research findings on studies pertaining to the service life and durability of construction and building materials, components and systems at the global and local levels. The perpetual interaction of activities carried out by researchers and professionals at these two levels constitute the sub-theme of this conference ¨C ˇ°Globality and Locality in Durabilityˇ±. Global is concerned with overall or conceptual issues while local focuses on more regional or specific problems. The intention of the conference is to merge both of these efforts on durability."7:
